Fifty years ago, John Prigmore established an architectural practice in his home community of El Dorado, Kansas. Mr. Prigmore’s talent, hard work, and commitment to serving his clients needs resulted in a remarkable legacy of projects in the central Kansas area. While we are justifiably proud of the many fine buildings that continue to serve their functions, we are even more proud of the relationships built over these years.
Ten years ago, in an effort to provide for continuing this extraordinary level of service to our customers, Mr. Prigmore recruited J.P. (George) Krievins to join his practice. Mr. Krievins was an architect with his own architectural practice in Newton, Kansas. Mr. Krievins had been actively working in his home community for almost ten years at that time.
Both architects were strongly committed to their clients and communities, which presented a dilemma regarding where to locate their office. The solution was to merge the firms and maintain both offices. The combined firm has since grown to add additional partners and staff, relocating into larger quarters.
In 2000, with Mr. Prigmore retiring after and long and productive practice, Mr. Haines and Mr. Limón shared the partnership responsibilities by adding their names and talents to the group. Today, both offices are fully staffed and the partnership is running smoothly. Mr. Prigmore is still actively involved in a profession that is more a way of life, than a job.
PKHLS Architecture offices are located in the former Carnegie Library in El Dorado, and the historic Old Mill Plaza in Newton. Both buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places.
