K-96 CORRIDOR
THE CORRIDOR OF OPPORTUNITY

The K-96 Corridor is poised for growth. The Corridor is defined as a 43 mile four lane highway beginning at the eastern edge of Maize in Sedgwick County to South Hutchinson in Reno County and includes the communities of South Hutchinson, Haven, Mount Hope and Maize. With the exception of the interstate highways in the state, this corridor's traffic count is the highest in the state. The access to metropolitan Wichita and Hutchinson makes development along the corridor attractive and convenient with the advantages by being located in rural community or area along the corridor.

Each of the municipalities along the corridor have identified appropriate areas within its boundaries for the development of residential, commercial and industrial uses. Land is available and ready for development. These areas are outlined in the land use map of each city. In general, the utilities needed to serve future development are in proximity to proposed sites. Rail access is available in all communities. The available land, rail access and connection to interstates in all directions makes the corridor an ideal area for industrial, business and residential development in the future.
