About The Spice Merchant

The Spice Merchant is located in the great old 1908 Mentholatum building. We are a family-owned business that started in 1980. Our specialty is coffee; we are known as "Wichita's Original Coffee Roaster," roasting premium coffees from around the world.

You have heard it before from other coffee roasters that they provide only the best coffee, etc., etc., and we will tell you the same. We have a trusting relationship with our green coffee broker, and we only purchase their top grades after they have been delivered and re-sampled.

Aromatic and colorful are words that describe this best kept secret. Glass jars line the shelves filled with various spices and teas from around the world. You'll come to appreciate the stores special spice blends that are always available -- chili powder, hot curry, garam masala, and mulling spice are just a few to mention. Spices and teas may be purchased in quantities ranging from 1 oz. on up.

In addition to the wide variety of bulk spices, specialty teas, and freshly roasted gourmet coffees, we have a selection of our own private-label gourmet foods, along with many other specialty food items, kitchen utensils, unique tea and coffee cups, various teapot styles, and many practical gift items.
