On almost any drive through Wichita you’ll see evidence of their character and heart. Spend an afternoon in Old Town and you’ll walk on hundred-year-old, fired clay street pavers that Heartstone has carefully pulled up, restored and re-laid (best side up) that are ready for another hundred years.

Take a jog along the river corridor and see the expansive range of Heartstone’s craft. Natural stone boulders bolster the Keeper of the Plains. Retaining block walls protect against erosion and gusting winds. And, many patterns and colors of concrete pavers adorn the river walks and bridges making ours one of the most beautiful river walks in the U.S.

Riverside Park makes an excellent evening stop for witnessing Kansas history made relevant in our daily lives. Heartstone has rendered our native pride masterfully in a concrete paver sunflower mosaic that lines an interactive fountain. It’s also evident in a natural stone boulder sundial as well as in the sandstone-edged strolling path that winds through the park.

True craftsmanship endures. Though Heartstone utilizes modern technology, much of their labor builds on old-fashioned principles of construction. You can see the Heartstone artisans around town, bent low over their work, laying out surfaces— brick by brick, hand by hand.
