2009 Events

This October our featured artists are Martha Wherry and consignment artist Frank Martinez.  Martha will be showing her artistic diversity by exhibiting a series of new paintings and assemblages. Frank is a local ceramist and will be showing his latest functional ceramic objects in stoneware and porcelain. They will host a reception during the Monthly Final Friday Gallery Walk on Sept. 25th from 6 to 10 pm. During the reception live entertainment will be provided by the musical group "Rocket Lawnchair." The exhibit will run till Oct. 28th.

In the month of November Gallery member Laura Stangel Schmidt will be the featured artist for the first time. The consignment artists will be ceramist David Self and his students at Heights High School.

 

Gallery XII now has two new members: Multi-media artist Vince Micelli and painter Joanna Mix. Their work is now on display stop by and check it out during our regular business hours of 10 am to 5 pm Monday thru Saturday.

Portfolio Sale: Gallery XII will be offering to its customers and guest a portfolio sale. The sale will include hundreds of unframed two-dimensional works of art starting at $25. This sale will begin on Sept. 26th and will continue till Oct. 10th. 

Gallery XII will be hosting four artist demonstrations/talks during the month of October. All four will be held on Saturday starting at 1:30 pm. They are free and open to the public.

About Gallery XII

An Art Gallery in Old Town Wichita featuring original works of art.

Gallery XII, the winner of the 2004 Arts Advocate-Group Award by the Wichita Arts Council, is an artists's cooperative fine art gallery located in Wichita's Old Town District. The gallery was established in 1977 and showcases the diversity of the fine arts in the Wichita area by exhibiting the works of over 30 local & regional artists (19) member/partners & 15+consignment artists), in a wide range of different media, styles & subject matter.

The Gallery represents a diverse variety of two- dimensional original fine art. Media includes watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, printmaking and photography. Images range from traditional to abstract. Also available is a selection of fine original pottery, sculpture, and hand blown glass.

Whether you are interested in viewing art, selecting a gift or acquiring an addition to your own collection, Gallery XII invites you to visit. A cooperative leasing plan is also available, as well as lay-a-way and gift certificates.
