Job Description:
We have 2 opening for an Aircraft Company here in Wichita!
Position Summary:
Accept or reject products based on optical and dimensional specifications. Interact with outside source inspectors. Verifies and keeps records using I. I. R. (In-process Inspection Records). Collect data focusing on production methods, GR&R (Gauge Repeatability & Reproducibility) Statistical Process Control studies and methods.
Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Associates Degree or equivalent desired
- ASQ Certifications a plus
Experience:
- Previous work related experience preferred
- Minimum 12mo. Primary and Final Finishing experience preferred
- Computer skills preferred: Excel, Access and Microsoft Word, etc.
Technical:
- Ability to use precision measuring devices
- Ability to read and understand blue prints preferred
- Ability to use computer data base and files
- Geometric Dimensioning and tolerance skills required
Problem Solving/Decision Making:
Ability to determine upon receiving, in-process, and final inspection if an item has been received and is acceptable or reject-able per customer requirements and specifications.

- Ability to stand and/or sit 7 to 9 hours a day
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to communicate clearly at all times
- Ability to understand and follow work orders, M I L-Specs, process specs and blue prints.
Work Environment:
- Air conditioned/heated plant
- Safety goggles required
- Some lint particles in air
Language Skills:
Ability to understand and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and process specs and follow directions.
Requirements
Duties and Tasks for Receiving Inspection:
- inspect incoming product to ensure conformance to specified requirements
- assist in performing in-process and final inspections, including dimensional/optical inspection of windows
- assist in dimensional inspection of sheet metal detail parts in accordance with ANSI 14.5
- input and update database files related to inspection activities as required
- generate computer reports as requested by management and/or supervisor
- maintain, stamp, record inspection dates as required
- operates tier lift truck or use hand truck
Duties and Tasks for In-process Inspection:
- write narrative reports
- collect statistical data
- examine parts during the manufacturing process
- track lot number, S/N & stretch number against work orders
- produce non-conforming material reports
- interface effectively with Production Manager and Production Leads
- cautious handling of parts
- seeking guidance and direction as necessary for performance duties
- keeping the supervisor /manager informed about the status of work being performed and about problems or potential problems as early as possible
- reporting to work on time each day, after lunch, and not leaving early
- maintaining the work area in a neat and orderly manner – 5S Activities
- maintaining a well groomed appearance appropriate for the position and situation
- respecting the confidentiality of the Company, customer, and personnel information
- performing other duties and tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor
- assist and train other employees as needed
