Job Description:
Environmental Geologist
Description:
With autonomy, performs routine assignments in the fields of environmental, health, and safety. Under supervision, performs non-routine assignments.
Assumes responsibility for environmental site assessments, work area monitoring, and a variety of other projects. Actively participates as a team
member and successfully solicits the input of others on project assignments.
Demonstrates efficiency in defining, planning, completing, and documenting projects. Works with routine clients and governmental agency representatives. Is proficient with word processing and data management software. Position includes both field work and report development.
Responsibilities:
•Participate in environmental, health, and safety projects
•Maintain knowledge of applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations
•Perform routine assignments autonomously
•Perform non-routine assignments under supervision
•Conduct compliance audits
•Conduct site sampling, review and prepare documentation
•Develop knowledge of client facilities and operations
•Provide customer service to a variety of client representatives
•Write reports, letters, and other project documents
•Participate in preparing proposals
Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field
•2-5 years experience in the environmental field
•40-hour HAZWOPER training
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills
•Strong computer skills, particularly utilizing Microsoft Office applications
