
For June Gallery XII's featured artist is printmaker Doug Billings. The exhibition is titled "Melodrama:Kansas/Wichita." It is Doug's latest series of metaphysical images which use the City of Wichita and the Kansas landscape as a template or basis for the compositions and subject matter. Also having a show for the month is consignment artist Mark DeCou. Mark is from Cottonwood Falls and is exhibiting unique functional woodworking objects. The exhibition will run thru June till the 25th. Also, Gallery XII is having a special showing of its three new members: Collage Artist Sally Cobb; Painter Kaye Abbott and Fiber Artist Laura Stangel Schmidt. .

Gallery XII, the winner of the 2004 Arts Advocate-Group Award by the Wichita Arts Council, is an artists's cooperative fine art gallery located in Wichita's Old Town District. The gallery was established in 1977 and showcases the diversity of the fine arts in the Wichita area by exhibiting the works of over 30 local & regional artists (19) member/partners & 15+consignment artists), in a wide range of different media, styles & subject matter.
The Gallery represents a diverse variety of two- dimensional original fine art. Media includes watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, printmaking and photography. Images range from traditional to abstract. Also available is a selection of fine original pottery, sculpture, and hand blown glass.
Whether you are interested in viewing art, selecting a gift or acquiring an addition to your own collection, Gallery XII invites you to visit. A cooperative leasing plan is also available, as well as lay-a-way and gift certificates.
